Sheriff’s Deputy, Woman Injured in Modesto Crash on Highway 99 and Kiernan
MODESTO, CA (December 1, 2021) – A crash injured two people, including a sheriff’s deputy, on Highway 99 and Kiernan Avenue in Modesto.
According to an article published by The Modesto Bee, the accident took place on Tuesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 1:30 p.m.
The incident happened on November 30 when an on-duty Stanislaus County Sheriff’s deputy was going north on Highway 99 in Modesto. He then got off at the Kiernan Avenue exit.
2 Cars Collide
At the same time, an Acura was traveling east on Kiernan. The California Highway Patrol said as the deputy pulled into the exit’s intersection, the Acura struck his vehicle.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found both the deputy and the 37-year-old woman driving the Acura hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel treated them for the minor injuries they sustained. The woman complained of shoulder pain and a small cut on her right hand while the deputy complained of shoulder pain.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Highway 99 and Kiernan Avenue to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Modesto crash is still under investigation.
