2-Vehicle Collision on San Diego (5) Freeway Saturday
Carlsbad, CA (December 13, 2021) – At least one person suffered injuries following a suspected hit-and-run crash that occurred on Interstate 5, also known as San Diego Freeway.
The California Highway Patrol group reported two vehicles collided on the northbound lanes of the freeway near Las Flores Drive.
Shortly after 3:07 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the accident scene. First responders found a gray Mercedes car abandoned along the highway in Carlsbad. Meanwhile, no immediate information was available on the second vehicle involved in the collision.
Responding medical personnel rendered aid to all parties left at the scene. According to the CHP dispatch, at least one person suffered injuries as a result of the wreck. The name and age of the victim remained undisclosed pending confirmation.

Meanwhile, officials mentioned they continue to look for the parties who evaded after the mishap. Detectives stayed at the scene the whole afternoon to investigate any information that will help identify and locate the hit-and-run suspects.
