At Least 1 Hurt in Collision Near Shields Avenue Friday
Fresno, CA (February 20, 2022) – A suspected hit-and-run crash occurred on State Route 41 on February 10, Friday.
The California Highway Patrol group reported a male party was driving while apparently using a cellular phone. When the distracted motorist approached the area near Shields Ave offramp, it slammed into the back of another vehicle. The make and model of the cars involved in the wreck have not been revealed thus far.
Shortly after 5:09 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the site. First responders found three children with unspecified injuries. Authorities added an 18-year-old occupant in the rear-ended car sustained injuries to their arm as a result of the crash.

The CHP log mentioned the driver allegedly using a phone fled the scene before police arrived. At this time, detectives continue to gather information to identity the hit-and-run suspect.
