Driver Hospitalized After Collision Near Hayfork Summit Friday
Redding, CA (March 5, 2022) – William Davis, of Rio Dell, suffered injuries following a traffic crash that occurred on State Route Highway 3 on March 4.
The Redheaded Blackbelt News reported Davis was driving a 2018 Peterbilt logging truck hauling a load of logs. Preliminary investigation revealed the man was heading north on the highway just south of Hayfork Summit.
According to the article published online, Davis lost control on a corner along SR-3. As a result, the truck overturned and flipped onto the side of the driver. Officials confirmed the load of logs spilled onto the roadway and block the southbound side of the highway.

Medical personnel later arrived and rendered aid to Davis. Due to the condition of the driver, paramedics rushed him to Trinity General Hospital for treatment and further evaluation.
Several factors surrounding the incident remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the collision on Highway 3 in Redding.
