4 Hospitalized After Collision on Highway 145 Tuesday
Madera, CA (March 15, 2022) – Several people suffered injuries following a traffic crash that occurred on Highway 145 Tuesday morning.
The ABC30 News reported an accident involving a sedan and a van. According to the article published online, the driver of the sedan allowed the car to drift off the roadway while heading north on SR-145. Officials said the sedan ended up hitting a guard rail.
Due to the force from the impact, the sedan bounced back into the highway and crashed into an oncoming van. The collision took place at about 10:30 a.m.
Emergency crews responded to the site, on the bridge that crosses Cottonwood Creek, and found the sedan split in two. Half of the car fell into the creek, authorities said.
Two occupants in the sedan sustained major injuries as a result of the wreck. Paramedics transported both patients to the hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
Meanwhile, investigators mentioned the van involved in the incident was occupied by a family of six. Two of them had to be taken to the hospital; and two others received treatment at the scene. The baby and child in the van appeared unharmed after the crash.
Detectives stayed at the scene the whole morning. They continue to investigate the precise cause of the car accident on Highway 145 in Madera.
