Pedestrian Struck by Suspected DUI Driver in Tustin
TUSTIN, Calif. (April 7, 2022) – A Tustin pedestrian accident happened Saturday night at McFadden Avenue and Newport Avenue.
The crash happened just after 10 p.m. on April 2nd at the Tustin intersection, according to County News Service. A driver struck a pedestrian who was walking near a gas station.
A man suffered undisclosed injuries in the crash. Police were first on the scene where they found a man laying on his back in the roadway. Paramedics arrived and transported the injured man by ambulance to a hospital. There are no further details about the man’s injuries.
However, the motorist reportedly failed field sobriety testing. Police handcuffed the man and arrested him on DUI charges.
The suspect and his female passenger were not injured in the Tustin pedestrian accident.
Meanwhile, police closed down all northbound lanes on Newport Avenue at Walnut Avenue for roughly an hour to investigate.
