Cyclist Dies Hit-and-Run Collision Near Briggsmore Avenue
Modesto, CA (April 10, 2022) – Kenneth Earl Hutt, a 62-year-old man, died in a suspected hit-and-run crash that occurred on Lakewood Avenue.
The Modesto Bee News reported Hutt was riding a bicycle in the streets of Modesto. Our sources indicated two vehicles struck the man in the area between Briggsmore and Orangeburg Avenue.
Officials said the collision took place Saturday at approximately 9:15 p.m.

When rescue teams arrived at the site, they found the cyclist with serious injuries. Residents and officers performed life-saving measures to the victim but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and died. The Modesto police identified the fatal victim as Kenneth Earl Hutt.
Meanwhile, authorities mentioned both motorists involved in the crash fled the scene. Preliminary investigation revealed the suspects were possibly driving an older model red Toyota pickup; and a older model red Toyota pickup.
Detectives continue to gather several information to determine the identity and location of the hit-and-run suspect. Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
