3 Killed in Fresno County Crash Near Highway 33 and Sutter Avenue
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (May 2, 2022) – Several were killed after a head-on crash near Highway 33 and Sutter Avenue in Fresno County.
According to The Fresno Bee and Your Central Valley, the tragic accident took place on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at around 2:43 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol said a Dodge Caravan and a Dodge Ram collided head-on for an unknown reason in Fresno County. They crashed on Highway 33 near Sutter Avenue.
Minivan and Pickup Truck Collide
One of the vehicles involved became fully engulfed in flames due to the impact of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Medical personnel confirmed that a total of three people, two people riding the pickup truck and the driver of the minivan, died as a result of the incident. CHP described one victim as a child.
The names of the deceased parties have not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, officers forced a stretch of Highway 33 to shut down near Sutter following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Fresno County crash is still under investigation.
