Motorcyclist Seriously injured in Benicia Crash on Interstate 680 Near Lake Herman
BENICIA, CA (May 24, 2022) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash on the Interstate 680 near Lake Herman Road in Benicia.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Tuesday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 6:04 p.m.
CHP said the rider of a Suzuki sport bike and another vehicle collided for an unknown reason in Benicia. The two crashed on the northbound Interstate 680 near Lake Herman Road.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
The incident log described the car involved as either a silver Toyota or a Lexus sedan. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Medical personnel found the motorcyclist who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. They then took the patient to a hospital for treatment.
The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the car ended up hurt or if they stopped following the wreck.
Officers forced the northbound lanes of the Interstate 680 to shut down near Lake Herman after the incident. The cause of the Benicia crash is still under investigation.
