1 Killed, 2 Injured in Crash on 91 Freeway Near Long Beach Boulevard
LONG BEACH, CA (June 2, 2022) – A crash killed one person and injured two others on the 91 Freeway near Long Beach Boulevard.
According to an article published by the CBS Los Angeles, the tragic accident took place early Wednesday. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 1 a.m.
The incident happened on June 1 when a driver slammed into the rear of another vehicle for an unknown reason in Long Beach.
The first vehicle spun out of control and ended up facing the wrong direction. A third motorist traveling in an adjacent lane approached and collided head-on with the first vehicle.
Multiple Vehicles Involved in Wreck
The California Highway Patrol said the vehicles crashed on the 91 Freeway near Long Beach Boulevard. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
They confirmed that a woman riding the first vehicle died as a result of the collision. Two other people ended up hurt following the accident.
Medical personnel provided treatment to the patients for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the incident. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of 91 Freeway to shut down after the crash. The cause of the fatal wreck is still under investigation.
