Luis Silva, 32, Killed in Menifee Crash at Bundy Canyon and Cottonwood Canyon
MENIFEE, CA (June 2, 2022) – A DUI crash killed Luis Silva at Bundy Canyon Road and Cottonwood Canyon Road in Menifee.
The coroner’s office identified the 32-year-old Winchester man as the victim of the fatal wreck which took place on Tuesday.
The incident happened when Luis Christian Silva was riding his motorcycle west on Bundy Canyon Road in Menifee. At the same time, a sedan was going south on Cottonwood Canyon Road.
DUI Driver Hits Motorcyclist
The car then began making a left turn onto Bundy Canyon, directly in front of the rider. Police said in the process, the two collided in the intersection.
Luis Silva, who had the right of way, ended up ejected from his motorcycle as a result of the crash. He died at the scene.
The Press Enterprise wrote that the accident occurred on May 31 at about 5:15 a.m. Meanwhile, police determined that the driver of the sedan was under the influence when he hit the victim.
They soon arrested the man on suspicion of second-degree murder, felony DUI and DUI resulting in great bodily injury. The Menifee crash is still under investigation.
