1 Killed in Hit-and-Run Collision Near Carlsbad Village Drive
Carlsbad, CA (June 8, 2022) – One person died following a traffic accident that occurred on Interstate 5 Monday night, the San Diego Union-Tribune News reported.
Deadly Multi-Car Accident on Interstate 5 in Carlsbad
Officials said multiple vehicles collided in the southbound side of the freeway near Carlsbad Village Drive. According to the article published online, the wreck involved a 2003 Ford Expedition, a 2000 Chevrolet Suburban, and a 2006 Freightliner big rig. The precise circumstances that led up to the deadly accident remained under investigation.
Shortly after 9:20 p.m., medical personnel arrived at the location. Responding paramedics found the driver of the Ford unconscious. Despite life-saving measures performed by paramedics, the female motorist sadly passed away. Authorities continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, officials mentioned two occupants in the Chevrolet attempted to ran away but were eventually arrested.
Detectives stayed at the scene the whole evening. They continue to work at this time to determine exactly how and why the fatal crash happened on Interstate 5 in Carlsbad.
