Vehicle Strikes, Kills Man Near Bayside Cutoff
Humboldt, CA (June 11, 2022) – A pedestrian died following a traffic accident that occurred on Highway 101 on June 5, Sunday.
The Redheaded Blackbelt News reported a vehicle struck an individual in the northbound side of the highway near Bayside Cutoff. Our sources indicated the horrible crash involved a 2003 Mercury Mariner.
Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Highway 101 in Humboldt
Shortly after 3:04 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. First responders found the victim lying on the ground. Due to the severe injuries sustained by the pedestrian, they sadly succumbed to their trauma and passed away. Authorities continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the driver, 32-year-old Kayla Guest of McKinleyville, appeared unharmed after the collision.
Detectives stayed at the scene the whole morning. They continue to investigate liability in the deadly accident on Highway 101 in Humboldt.
