1 Killed in Rancho Cordova Crash on Highway 50 Near Zinfandel Drive
RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (June 19, 2022) – A car crash killed at least one person on Highway 50 near Zinfandel Drive in Rancho Cordova.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the tragic accident took place late Sunday night. Officers reported the wreck at about 11:11 p.m.
CHP said at least two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Rancho Cordova. They crashed on westbound Highway 50 near the Zinfandel Drive off-ramp.
2 Cars Collide
One of the cars involved rolled onto its side due to the impact of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Medical personnel confirmed that one individual died as as a result of the incident. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the westbound lanes of Highway 50 to shut down near Zinfandel following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Rancho Cordova crash is still under investigation.
