Woman Airlifted to Hospital After Collision at Main Street and Big Break Road
Oakley, CA (June 26, 2022) – Police arrested 25-year-old Malcolm Shephard following a suspected DUI crash that occurred in the area of Main Street and Big Break Road.
The East County Today News reported Shephard was driving a vehicle traveling in the streets of Oakley Saturday evening. When Shephard approached the intersection at Main and Big Break, he collided with another vehicle driven by a female party.
According to the article published online, the force from the impact resulted in significant damage to both cars. Emergency crews arrived at the crash site shortly after 8:51 p.m., and found a woman on the ground bleeding from her head. Paramedics immediately summoned a life-flight helicopter to transfer the patient to John Muir Medical Center. Our sources indicated the patient was later listed in critical but stable condition. The name and age of the victim remained undisclosed pending confirmation.

Meanwhile, detectives discovered Malcolm Shephard was under the influence of a substance. Officers then arrested the man on suspicion of felony driving under the influence, possession of a loaded handgun and possession of drugs for sale.
The Oakley Police Department is the agency handling the investigation process.
