7 Injured in Fairfield Crash on Interstate 80 Near Manuel Campos Parkway
FAIRFIELD, CA (August 4, 2022) – Several were injured after a crash on the Interstate 80 near Manuel Campos Parkway in Fairfield.
According to the CBS Sacramento and FOX 40 News, the accident took place on Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at around 3:15 p.m.
The Fairfield Fire Department said multiple cars and a semi-truck collided for an unknown reason. The vehicles crashed on the westbound Interstate 80, west of Manuel Campos Parkway.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
The California Highway Patrol added that the big rig ended up jackknifed as a result of the collision. Firefighters soon arrived and found a total of seven people hurt.
Paramedics at the scene treated four patients who sustained minor to moderate injuries in the wreck. Medical personnel rushed the other three to a trauma center with unspecified injuries.
The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. The cause of the Fairfield crash is still under investigation.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the westbound lanes of the Interstate 80 to shut down near Manuel Campos following the incident.
