Enrique Meza, 33, Killed in Adelanto Crash at Highway 395 and Chamberlaine Way
ADELANTO, CA (August 30, 2022) – Enrique Meza was killed after a car crash at Highway 395 and Chamberlaine Way in Adelanto.
The sheriff’s department identified the 33-year-old Adelanto man as the victim of the fatal wreck which took place on Sunday.
The incident happened when Enrique Meza was driving a silver 2018 Chevrolet Malibu east on Chamberlaine Way, crossing Highway 395, in Adelanto.
At the same time, a white older model Toyota Tacoma was going north on the highway. For an unknown reason, the Toyota ran a red light at the intersection.
Distracted Driver Runs Red Light, Hits Victim
In the process, the Tacoma slammed into the Chevrolet. The Victor Valley News wrote that the accident occurred on August 28 at about 1:19 p.m.
Enrique Meza ended up trapped inside his car as a result of the crash. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then freed him from the wreckage.
Medical personnel soon rushed the victim to a hospital, where he died. The 18-year-old Adelanto man driving the Toyota, Apolinar Lopez, did not sustain any injury following the incident.
Deputies believed that distracted driving played a role in the accident. The Adelanto crash is still under investigation.
