Tesla Driver Injured in San Jose Fatal Crash at Santa Teresa and Lean
SAN JOSE, CA (September 8, 2022) – A Tesla driver was hospitalized after a fatal crash at Santa Teresa Boulevard and Lean Avenue in San Jose.
According to The Mercury News and CBS San Francisco, the tragic accident took place on Wednesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on September 7 at about 1:58 p.m.
The incident happened when a man was riding a dirt bike at a high rate of speed west on Santa Teresa Boulevard, approaching Lean Avenue, in San Jose.
Police said the motorcyclist then ran a red light at the intersection. In the process, he slammed into a 2018 Tesla sedan crossing on a green light at the time.

The driver of the Tesla sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision. Paramedics arrived and rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment.
Police confirmed that the speeding rider soon died at the scene. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, officers forced the area of Santa Teresa and Lean to shut down for a time following the wreck. The San Jose crash is still under investigation.
