3 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured in Fresno County Crash at Cedar and Floral Avenues
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (September 18, 2022) – A crash killed three people and seriously injured one person at Cedar and Floral avenues in Fresno County.
According to The Fresno Bee and Your Central Valley, the tragic accident on Sunday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 2 p.m.
The incident happened when a Honda CRV was going west on Floral Avenue, approaching Cedar Avenue, in Fresno County. At the same time, a flatbed truck was traveling south on Cedar.
For an unknown reason, the SUV ran the stop sign at the intersection. The California Highway Patrol said the car then slammed into the truck.
Driver Runs Red Light, Hits Truck
Both vehicles rolled over due to the impact of the collision. In the process, the Honda and the truck became fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters arrived and pronounced the three occupants of the Honda dead at the scene. The 72-year-old driver of the flatbed truck sustained major injuries as a result of the accident.
Paramedics rushed the patient to the Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Cedar and Floral avenues to shut down for hours following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Fresno County crash is still under investigation.
