Intoxicated Driver Arrested After Fatal Collision Near Esmar Road
Modesto, CA (December 15, 2022) – Daniel Garcia, a 41-year-old man, died following a pedestrian accident that occurred on Service Road on December 13, Tuesday.
The Modesto Bee News reported Garcia was riding his personal mobility device. Preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian attempted to cross Service Road near Esmar Road. While in the middle of the roadway, a Toyota crashed into the back of the man riding a mobility device. Our sources mentioned the vehicle was traveling at approximately 65 mph when the collision happened. Due to the force from the impact, the pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries.
Pedestrian in Mobility Device Dies in Modesto DUI Crash
Responding paramedics immediately performed CPR and other life-saving measures to the victim. Sadly, the man succumbed to his injuries and passed away. The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office later identified the deceased as Daniel Garcia, of Modesto.
According to the article published online, police arrested the driver of the Toyota after the incident. Investigators learned the woman, Kayla Espinoza of Ceres, was under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash.
Several factors surrounding the catastrophic incident have not been discussed thus far. Further investigation is ongoing on the deadly crash that happened on Service Road in Modesto.
