1 Injured in Hemet Fatal Crash Near Florida and Acacia Avenues
HEMET, CA (February 3, 2023) – A crash killed one person and injured another near Florida Avenue and Acacia Avenue in Hemet.
According to an article published by the Valley News, the fatal accident took place last week on Friday night. Officers responded to the wreck on January 27 at about 9:30 p.m.
The incident began when a gray Toyota Corolla was traveling at an excessive rate of speed east on Florida Avenue near Acacia Avenue in Hemet.
At the same time, a gray Toyota Tacoma made a left turn from The Royal Holiday Mobile Home Park onto eastbound Florida. Police said in the process, the Corolla slammed into the Tacoma.
Steven Davis, 30, Killed in Wreck
Both vehicles obtained major damage due to the impact of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found the 30-year-old Hemet man driving the Corolla unresponsive in his car.
The motorist, Steven Davis, soon died at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the Tacoma ended up hurt as a result of the accident.
Medical personnel rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. The report did not release the name of the wounded victim and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, officers forced the eastbound lanes of Florida Avenue to shut down several hours following the wreck. The cause of the Hemet crash is still under investigation.
