Aaron Buenrostro, 35, Injured in Merced Crash Near Childs and Kibby
MERCED, CA (September 12, 2022) – Aaron Buenrostro was hospitalized after a crash near Childs Avenue and Kibby Road in Merced.
Police identified the 35-year-old Manteca man as the victim of the fatal wreck which took place on Thursday.
The incident happened when Aaron Buenrostro was driving a Dodge Ram PG&E truck east on East Childs Avenue, approaching Kibby Road, in Merced. He was going to a PG&E facility.
At the same time, a Scion xB was traveling west. Police said Aaron Buenrostro was trying to make a left turn onto Kibby when for an unknown reason, the Scion collided with him.
Woman, 75, Killed in Wreck
The Scion obtained severe damage following the collision. The Merced Sun Star wrote that the accident occurred on September 8 at about 6 a.m.
Aaron Buenrostro ended up hurt as a result of the crash. Paramedics rushed him to a hospital as a precaution but they did not report serious injuries.
The passenger in the Scion, a 75-year-old woman, died at the scene. An air ambulance took the driver of the same car, a 67-year-old woman, for treatment of significant injuries.
Meanwhile, police described the incident that forced the intersection to shut down for hours as a high-speed impact. The cause of the Merced crash is still under investigation.
