Aaron Manning, 26, ID’d as Driver in Brooktrails Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash
MENDOCINO COUNTY, CA (May 10, 2021) – Authorities identified Aaron Manning as the driver in Brooktrails fatal hit-and-run crash on Sherwood Road.
The California Highway Patrol said the 26-year-old Willits man killed a pedestrian in an accident which took place last week, on Friday.
The incident happened on May 7 when Aaron L. Manning was driving a 2019 silver Hyundai Accent west on Sherwood Road in Brooktrails.
At the same time, Paul Brown was walking west on the south asphalt shoulder of Sherwood. For an unknown reason, Aaron Manning crossed over into the eastbound lane.

CHP said he then struck the male pedestrian east of Birch Terrace. The Ukiah Daily Journal and The Willits News wrote that the officers reported the collision at about 1:20 a.m.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found Paul Brown left lying on the ground. The 41-year-old Fort Bragg man died as a result of the accident.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that Manning did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled west on Sherwood. His car ended up with front damage on its left headlight assembly and front bumper.
Authorities have not yet arrested the motorist who voluntarily contacted law enforcement following the crash. The fatal Brooktrails hit-and-run collision is still under investigation.
