Abram Parra-Pantoja, 27, ID’d as Suspect in Bakersfield Hit-and-Run Crash
BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 30, 2021) – Authorities identified Abram Parra-Pantoja as the driver in Bakersfield hit-and-run crash at Virginia and Niles streets.
The California Highway Patrol said the 27-year-old Arvin man ran away following the wreck which took place on Saturday.
The incident began when Abram Parra-Pantoja was driving a black 2004 Chevrolet Silverado on Virginia Street in Bakersfield. At the same time, a Kern County Sheriff’s deputy was traveling on Niles Street.
CHP determined that Abram Parra-Pantoja ran a red light at the intersection and slammed into the marked patrol car. He then struck a traffic pole in the area.
3 Injured in Car Crash
The pickup truck flipped over in an adjacent parking lot. Both vehicles obtained major damage due to the impact of the collision.
The Bakersfield Californian and Kern Golden Empire wrote that the accident occurred on August 28 just after 12:45 a.m. The deputy sustained moderate injuries as a result of the wreck.
The passengers in the pickup suffered major injuries upon impact. CHP named them as 20-year-old Nancy Ramirez; and 21-year-old Sandra Casarez.
Paramedics soon took all three patients to the Kern Medical for treatment. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that Abram Parra-Pantoja abandoned the Chevrolet following the crash and fled on foot.
Officers are still searching for the hit-and-run suspect involved in the Bakersfield collision. Anyone with information can call the CHP at 661-391-6600.
