DUI Driver in Corona Fatal Car Crash ID’d as Adrian Antonio, 41
CORONA, CA (April 18, 2021) – Authorities detained Adrian Antonio after a fatal DUI crash along the 91 Freeway in Corona.
The California Highway Patrol determined that the 41-year-old Fontana man was under the influence when the accident on Saturday.
The incident began when Adrian Antonio was driving a Ford Windstar erratically. He was traveling at a high rate of speed in the eastbound lanes of the 91 Freeway in Corona.
At the same time, a Chrysler Voyager was also going east. CHP said the Ford then struck the rear of the Chrysler and caused a chain-reaction crash with four more vehicles.
Joan McKee, 71, Killed in 91 Freeway Crash
The Voyager spun out of control, just west of Main Street. In the process, the two occupants of the minivan ended up ejected from their vehicle.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced the female passenger dead at the scene. The coroner’s office identified her as 71-year-old Huntington Beach resident Joan McKee.
Medical personnel rushed the man operating the Chrysler to a hospital with serious injuries. The Orange County Register and My News LA reported the wreck on April 17 at about 5:50 p.m.
They took Adrian Antonio and another person for treatment of minor wounds. Meanwhile, authorities soon arrested Antonio on suspicion of homicide and driving while intoxicated.
They booked him into the Southwest Detention Center without bail. The Corona DUI crash is still under investigation.
