Aidan Rakisits, 18, Badly injured in Lancaster Head-On Crash on 14 Freeway
SAN JOSE, CA (February 15, 2022) – A fatal wrong-way crash left Aidan Rakisits badly injured on the 14 Freeway in Lancaster.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 18-year-old Rosamond resident as the victim of the wreck which took place on Monday.
The incident happened when Aidan W. Rakisits was driving a 2013 Kia north on the 14 Freeway in Lancaster. At the same time, a 2014 Hyundai was traveling south in the northbound No. 1 lane.
Wrong-Way Driver Kolisha Mitchell-King, 34, Killed
In the process, the Hyundai slammed head-on into the Kia north of Avenue H. The Antelope Valley Times wrote that the accident occurred on February 14 at around 12:04 a.m.
CHP said Aidan Rakisits sustained moderate injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics then took the patient to a hospital for treatment.
The wrong-way driver, 34-year-old Inglewood resident Kolisha Mitchell-King, died at the scene. Her passenger, a 1-year-old girl, survived with minor wounds.
