Motorcyclist, 70, Killed in Santa Ynez Crash on Baseline Avenue
SANTA YNEZ, CA (June 24, 2021) – A motorcyclist was killed after a motorcycle crash on Baseline Avenue in the Santa Ynez Valley.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 70-year-old man as the victim in the wreck which occurred on Thursday morning.
The incident happened when the man was riding a motorcycle east on Baseline Avenue in Santa Ynez. At the same time, an SUV was going west.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
CHP said the car then made a left turn into a private driveway in front of the motorcyclist. In the process, the rider collided with the vehicle in the 4800 block of Baseline, west of Linda Vista Drive.
The victim ended up ejected from his motorcycle as a result of the crash. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene.
The Santa Maria Times and KSBY News wrote that the accident took place at about 10:45 a.m. Meanwhile, the cause of the fatal Santa Ynez crash is still under investigation.
