Alberto Agoncillo and Lydia Agoncillo, Both 80, Killed in Moreno Valley DUI Crash
MORENO VALLEY, CA (December 3, 2021) – A DUI crash killed Alberto Agoncillo and Lydia Agoncillo on Alessandro Boulevard in Moreno Valley.
The coroner’s office identified the Moreno Valley couple, both 80, as victims of the fatal wreck which took place on Thursday.
The incident began when Alberto R. Agoncillo was driving a 2017 blue Mitsubishi Outlander east on Alessandro Boulevard in Moreno Valley. He was traveling with his wife, Lydia M. Agoncillo, at the time.
The Mitsubishi started to make a turn across westbound lanes into a business complex. In the process, a 2002 black Acura MDX slammed into the passenger side of the Outlander.
Speeding DUI Driver Hits Couple’s Car
The sheriff’s department said the Acura was traveling at a high rate of speed west before the collision. The two cars crashed west of Heacock Street.
Alberto Agoncillo and Lydia Agoncillo died at the scene of the crash. My News LA wrote that the tragic accident occurred on December 2 at about 4 p.m.
Meanwhile, officers believed that the female driver of the Acura was under the influence when she hit the other car. She sustained minor wounds as a result of the wreck.
They soon arrested the woman on suspicion of DUI murder, felony DUI and causing great bodily injury. Paramedics took her passenger to a hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
