Alfonso Madera-Gomez, 21, Killed in Traffic Collision on Highway 70 Near West Branch Bridge
Butte County, CA (July 6, 2021) – Alfonso Madera-Gomez, a 21-year-old man, suffered fatal injuries following a car crash that occurred on Highway 70 on July 5, Monday.
The KRCRTV News reported Alfonso Madera-Gomez was behind the wheel of a 2016 Ford Focus heading west on the highway. When the Ford approached the area near West Branch Bridge, it collided head-on into a 2008 Mazda 3.
Per article published online, the force from the impact resulted in significant damage to the two vehicles.
Double Fatal Car Accident in Butte County, July 5
Emergency teams arrived at the crash site shortly after 3 a.m. Paramedics reportedly performed life-saving measures to the driver of the Mazda. Sadly, the 27-year-old man succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, our sources indicated paramedics airlifted Alfonso Madera-Gomez to Enloe Medical Center in Chico. The second driver later also succumbed to his injuries and died.
Additional details on the wreck have not been discussed thus far. At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the fatal car crash in Butte County.
