Allan Shultz and Susan Shultz Badly Injured in Kern County Crash on Interstate 5
KERN COUNTY, CA (November 1, 2022) – A crash left Allan Shultz and Susan Shultz badly injured on the Interstate 5 in Kern County.
The California Highway Patrol identified the El Dorado Hills residents as victims of the wreck which took place on Saturday.
The incident happened when Allan Shultz and Susan Shultz were riding their car north on the Interstate 5 in Kern County.
A semi-truck was traveling at a high rate of speed in the same direction at the time. CHP said the driver of the truck, 20-year-old Simranjeet Singh, failed to safely stop behind the stopped traffic ahead.
Speeding Truck Driver Hits Several Vehicles
The Vacaville man then slammed into four other vehicles in the area. The Kern Golden Empire and Bakersfield Now wrote that the accident on October 29 at about 10:40 a.m., north of Twisselman Road.
Both Allan Shultz, 77 and Susan Shultz, 76, sustained moderate injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics rushed them to the Mercy Hospital for treatment.
The occupants of the other vehicles ended up unharmed following the collision. Meanwhile, CHP forced the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 to shut down for several hours after the incident.
The cause of the crash near Lost Hills is still under investigation.
