Fatal Traffic Collision Near Dunbar Lane Tuesday
Alpine, CA (January 4, 2022) – At least one person died following a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate 8 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
Earlier reports indicated a semi truck crashed for an unknown reason in the eastbound side of I-8 near Dunbar Lane. It remained unclear at this time if other vehicles played a role in the catastrophic incident.
The CHP logged the case Tuesday at about 2:53 p.m.
When medical personnel arrived at the location, they reportedly found one person unconscious. Paramedics performed life-saving measures to the victim but they sadly succumbed to their injuries and died. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Several factors surrounding the incident have not been discussed thus far. At this time, detectives continue to investigate exactly how and why the deadly accident on Interstate 8 in Alpine happened.
