Anahy Rodelas and Osbaldo Ortega ID’as as Suspects in Bakersfield Hit-and-Run Crash
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 4, 2022) – Officers detained Anahy Rodelas and Osbaldo Ortega after a fatal hit-and-run crash in Bakersfield.
The California Highway Patrol identified the Bakersfield woman and man, both 22, as two of the suspects in the collision which took place last week on Tuesday.
The incident began when Anahy Gisselle Rodelas and Osbaldo Quintero Ortega were riding as passengers in a red Chevrolet truck traveling in Bakersfield. A total of four occupants were inside the car at the time.
The truck hit a 16-year-old boy crossing Niles Street at the intersection with Brentwood Drive. CHP said they struck the victim riding a skateboard in the area.
Teen Hit and Killed by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then found the boy unconscious and down in the center median. He ended up suffering from critical injuries as a result of the collision.
An air ambulance rushed the victim to the Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera, where he died. Family members set up a GoFundMe page to help cover his funeral expenses.
The Bakersfield Now wrote that the accident happened on January 25 between 5:45 a.m. and 6:37 a.m. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the people in the truck did not stop to help and fled the scene.
Officers soon located Anahy Rodelas and Osbaldo Ortega and the other two in East Bakersfield. They booked the driver at the Kern County Main Jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run with a bail set at $500,000.
CHP arrested all four of them on suspicion of conspiracy, concealment and destruction of evidence and aiding and abetting, The Bakersfield hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
