
Annie Kerr, 32, ID’d as Suspect in Salinas Fatal DUI Head-On Crash
SALINAS, CA (March 26, 2023) – Authorities detained Annie Kerr after a fatal DUI crash near West Market Street and Villa Street in Salinas.
Police determined that the 32-year-old woman was speeding and under the influence when the wreck took place on Sunday.
The incident began when Annie Kerr was driving a small SUV at a high rate of speed eastbound on West Market Street in Salinas. Police said she then struck a small sedan head-on.
The two cars crashed near the intersection with Villa Street. The KION News wrote that the accident occurred on March 26 at around 2 a.m.
1 Killed, 2 Injured in Wreck
Firefighters arrived at the scene and found three men riding the sedan hurt. One of them, a 33-year-old-man, sustained critical injuries as a result of the collision.
Paramedics rushed him to a trauma center, where he died. Another patient, a 31-year-old man, ended up suffering from serious injuries.
The third victim, a 32-year-old man, survived the incident with minor injuries. Medical personnel transported the two to a hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, police soon arrested Annie Kerr for DUI and vehicular manslaughter following the crash. She was driving twice the speed limit at the time of the incident.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. The cause of the Salinas DUI crash is still under investigation.
