1 Killed, 1 Badly Injured in Antelope Valley Crash on Highway 14 Near Avenue A
ANTELOPE VALLEY, CA (June 13, 2021) – A crash killed a motorcyclist and badly injured another on Highway 14 in the Antelope Valley.
According to the CBS Los Angeles and My News LA, the tragic accident occurred late Saturday night. Officers reported the wreck on June 12 at about 11:49 p.m.
The incident happened when 2018 Indian Chieftain Elite motorcycle slammed into the rear of a 2017 Harley-Davidson Roadglide. The two crashed for an unknown reason on southbound Highway 14.
The California Highway Patrol said both bikes rolled over and their riders ended up ejected as a result of the collision. The crash took place just south of Avenue A in the Antelope Valley.
Motorcyclist Rear Ends Another Biker on Aerospace Highway
Firefighters along with the paramedics pronounced the 59-year-old man riding the Indian motorcycle dead at the scene. The other motorcyclist sustained moderate injuries upon impact.
Medical personnel took the patient, a 47-year-old Los Angeles man, to the Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the southbound and northbound lanes of Highway 14 to shut down following the Antelope Valley wreck. The cause of the fatal collision is still under investigation.
