2 Injured in Arcata Crash on Highway 101 Near Sunset Avenue
VICTORVILLE, CA (July 31, 2022) – Two were hospitalized after a car crash on Highway 101 near Sunset Avenue in Arcata.
According to an article published by the KYEMP, the accident took place on Tuesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 5:30 p.m.
The incident happened on July 26 when two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Arcata. They crashed on Highway 101 near the Sunset Avenue off-ramp.
A California Highway Patrol dispatch described the cars as a Chevy Tahoe and a red SUV. Both went off the road due to the impact of the collision.
2 Cars Collide
The Chevy obtained major front-end damage while the other car came to a stop major rear-end damage. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene.
They found two people who ended up hurt following the wreck. At least one of them sustained major injuries as a result of the accident.
Medical personnel rushed the patients to a hospital for treatment. The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the No. 2 lane of Highway 101 to shut down near Sunset after the incident. The cause of the Arcata crash is still under investigation.
