Bicycle Rider Seriously Injured in Ashland Crash at 159th Avenue and 14th Street

ASHLAND, CA (November 20, 2021) – A bicycle rider was seriously injured after a crash at 159th Avenue and 14th Street in Ashland.

The California Highway Patrol said the incident took place on Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the incident at about 3:22 p.m.

According to CHP, a white Toyota Tundra struck the bicycle rider in Ashland. The car hit the cyclist for an unknown reason at the intersection of 159th Avenue and East 14th Street.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Bayfair Center shopping center. They found the bicyclist who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment. The dispatch did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.

Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the driver of the Toyota stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the rider. Officers forced the area of 159th Avenue and 14th Street to shut down following the wreck.

The cause of the Ashland bicycle crash is still under investigation.
