Major Injury Collision Near Santa Rosa Road Offramp
Atascadero, CA (February 9, 2022) – At least one person sustained injuries following a traffic crash that occurred on Highway 101 Wednesday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, a vehicle drifted off the traffic lanes while heading south on US-101. Earlier reports indicated the silver pickup truck left the roadway and struck poles along Highway 101. Officials added the vehicle also hit one or more trees in the area near Santa Rosa Road offramp.
The CHP logged the case at about 1:03 p.m.
When rescue teams arrived at the site, they found the pickup with significant damage. Paramedics immediately rendered aid to all the occupants in the disabled car. After the examination, officials confirmed one person sustained major trauma as a result of the wreck.
Additional details on the collision have not been discussed thus far.
At this time, investigators continue to work to determine exactly how and why the car accident happened on Highway 101 in Atascadero.
