At Least 1 Hurt in Traffic Collision on State Route Highway 99 Wednesday
Atwater, CA (September 23, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol group reported a suspected hit-and-run crash that occurred on State Route Highway 99 Wednesday morning.
At about 8:10 a.m., a big rig collided with another vehicle in the northbound side of the highway in Atwater. The accident took place near the Westside Boulevard.
Our sources indicated the force from the impact caused one vehicle to veer towards the center divider.
According to the CHP dispatch, at least one person sustained injuries as a result of the collision. The name of the victim and the extent of their injuries remained undisclosed.

Officials confirmed one driver fled the scene following the incident. Several factors surrounding the hit-and-run crash in Atwater have not been discussed thus far.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate the identity and location of the suspect.
