3 Children Hospitalized After Collision at Bellevue Road and Fox Road Monday
Merced County, CA (March 14, 2022) – Azucena Ibarra Gonzalez, a 35-year-old woman, suffered fatal injuries following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Bellevue Road and Fox Road.
The Merced Sun-Star News reported Gonzalez was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet SUV heading west on Bellevue Road. When the driver approached the intersection at Fox Road, Gonzalez failed to yield at a stop sign. Officials said the vehicle accelerated through the crossing and drove directly into the path of a big rig traveling north on Fox Road.
According to the article published online, the catastrophic incident took place Monday around 7 a.m.
Azucena Gonzalez Dies in Merced County Car Accident
First responders found Gonzalez unconscious. Despite life-saving measures performed by paramedics, the female driver sadly succumbed to her injuries died and died at the scene.
Meanwhile, three juvenile passengers in the Chevrolet reportedly sustained injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel rushed all three boys to Valley Children’s Hospital for treatment of minor to moderate injuries.
The relationship between the injured juveniles, and Azucena Ibarra Gonzalez have not been revealed thus far.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate several unclear factors surrounding the deadly crash Bellevue Road and Fox Road.
