Major Injury Collision on Kern Canyon Road Sunday
Bakersfield, CA (January 17, 2022) – A traffic accident that occurred on State Route 178 resulted in injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
Earlier reports indicated a pickup truck crashed in the eastbound side of SR-178, also known as Kern Canyon Road. The collision took place in the area near the Mouth Of The Canyon.
CHP logged the case on January 16 at approximately 11 a.m.
When rescue teams arrived at the location, they found a white Chevrolet pickup truck rolled down the side of the mountain. Responding firefighters worked extensively to extricate parties possibly trapped in the wreckage. Officials later confirmed at least one person sustained major trauma as a result of the crash. Pending confirmation, the name and age of the victim remained undisclosed.
Detectives continue to investigate at this time several factors surrounding the car accident on State Route 178 in Bakersfield.
