Vehicle Strikes, Kills Pedestrian Near Gilmore Avenue Monday
Bakersfield, CA (January 11, 2022) – A pedestrian died following a traffic accident that occurred on Buck Owens Boulevard Monday, the ABC23 News reported.
Our sources indicated a male party was seen walking outside of a crosswalk in Central Bakersfield around 9 p.m. In the area near Gilmore Avenue, an oncoming vehicle failed to avoid and struck the pedestrian. The collision resulted in serious injuries to the man.
When medical personnel arrived at the location, they immediately rendered aid to the victim found lying on the ground. The article published online mentioned the victim sadly died despite life-saving measures performed by paramedics. Officials continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, information on the driver involved in the unfortunate event remained undisclosed.
