1 Injured in Traffic Collision on State Route 58 at Highway 99 Onramp Tuesday
Bakersfield, CA (June 23, 2021) – At least one person suffered injuries following a suspected hit-and-run car crash on State Route 58, the California Highway Patrol group reported.
On June 22, Tuesday, two vehicles collided on the Bakersfield highway. The crash happened near the onramp onto Highway 99. Officials described one car involved in the wreck as a gray Mazda.
Medical personnel arrived at the location shortly after 4:45 a.m. According to the CHP dispatch, emergency teams attended to at least one person who sustained injuries from the collision. The name of the victim, and the extent of their trauma remained unknown at this time.

The CHP log mentioned the second car involved in the wreck fled the scene before police arrived. Detectives continue to work at this time to identify and locate the hit-and-run suspect.
