1 Injured in Bakersfield Hit-and-Run Crash at Union Avenue and Chester Avenue
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 17, 2021) – One was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash at Union Avenue and Chester Avenue in Bakersfield.
The Kern Golden Empire wrote that the accident occurred earlier last month on May 11. Officers reported the wreck at around 4:43 p.m.
Bakersfield police said a motorhome that a box truck was towing broke free for an unknown reason. The RV then struck a vehicle near the intersection of South Union Avenue and South Chester Avenue.
The driver of the box truck picked up a man occupying the RV following the incident. The two soon fled the area, leaving the motorhome at the scene.
Motorhome Towed by Box Truck Hits Another Vehicle
The occupant of the vehicle hit by the RV sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision. Paramedics arrived and took the patient to an area hospital for treatment.
Officials did not release the name of the wounded victim and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, police later found the box truck involved.
Officers described the suspect as a white man in his 20s or 30s, medium build, dark medium-length hair with a mustache and beard. The Bakersfield hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
Authorities are still looking at the surveillance videos near Union and Chester avenues to locate the man. Anyone with information can call the police at 661-327-7111.
