Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Bakersfield Hit-and-Run Near Niles and Glenwood
BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 3, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash seriously injured a motorcyclist near Niles Street and Glenwood Drive in Bakersfield.
According to an article published by the Kern Golden Empire, the accident occurred on Saturday morning. Officers reported the wreck at around 9:56 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol said a vehicle struck the male motorcycle rider for an unknown reason. The driver hit him near the intersection of Niles Street and Glenwood Drive in Bakersfield.
Driver Hits Motorcycle Rider, Flees on Foot
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and then found the victim down on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed him to the Kern Medical for treatment of major injuries. His name and condition at this time were not released.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist fled on foot southbound on Vista Street. Officials described the suspect as a black man possibly in his 20s and his car as a Ford Mustang.
Authorities are still searching for the hit-and-run driver. They also forced the intersection of Niles and Glenwood to shut down following the Bakersfield crash.
