Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Bakersfield Crash at Edison and Chamberlain
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 14, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after an accident at Edison Highway and Chamberlain Avenue in Bakersfield.
Kern Golden Empire wrote that the collision took place on Friday night. Officers reported the crash at around 8:45 p.m. in East Bakersfield.
The incident happened when a male pedestrian was walking near the intersection of Edison Highway and Chamberlain Avenue.
Man Hit by Car in Bakersfield
The California Highway Patrol said a white Honda Civic approached and then struck the man for an unknown reason. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene near Mt. Vernon Avenue.
Medical personnel found him on the road and suffering from moderate to severe injuries as a result of the collision. They rushed the victim to a hospital for treatment.
Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP confirmed that the motorist stopped after hitting the man.
The driver of the Honda stayed at the crash site and cooperated with the officers. The cause of the Bakersfield pedestrian collision is still under investigation.
