Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Bakersfield Crash at Knudsen and Olive Drives
BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 1, 2022) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a crash at Knudsen Drive and Olive Drive in Bakersfield.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Saturday afternoon. According to their dispatch, officers reported the collision at about 3:53 p.m.
The incident happened on New Year’s Day when a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason in Bakersfield. The driver hit him at the intersection of Knudsen Drive and Olive Drive.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene in front of the Starbucks shop. They found the victim down on the ground as a result of the collision
Medical personnel then took him to the Kern Medical Center for treatment of major injuries. The report did not release the name of the wounded patient and his condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the motorist stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the victim. Officers forced the area of Knudsen and Olive drives to shut down following the collision.
The cause of the Bakersfield pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
