Pedestrian Badly Injured in Bakersfield Hit-and-Run on Union Avenue Near Truxtun
BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 2, 2022) – A pedestrian was badly injured after a hit-and-run crash near Union Avenue and Truxtun Avenue in Bakersfield.
According to an article published by the Kern Golden Empire, the accident took place on Sunday evening. Officers reported the collision at around 6:35 p.m.
Bakersfield police said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in the city. The driver hit the person on Union Avenue near the frontage road to Truxtun Avenue.
Driver Hits Victim, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the victim victim left suffering from moderate injuries as a result of the collision
Medical personnel then took the patient to the Kern Medical for treatment. The report did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to help the victim and fled the area. Officers forced a stretch of Union Avenue to shut down near Truxtun Avenue following the incident.
