5 Injured in Bakersfield Crash on Highway 58 at South H Street
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 16, 2022) – Several were injured after a crash on Highway 58 and H Street in Bakersfield.
According to an article published by the Kern Golden Empire, the accident took place on Wednesday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 7:45 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol said three semi-trucks and six other vehicles became involved in the incident which occurred on June 15 in Bakersfield. They crashed on westbound Highway 58 at South H Street.
Semi-Trucks and Cars Collide
One big rig carrying hay rolled over and then caught fire. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and soon found a total of five people hurt.
Two of the victims, including a semi-truck driver, sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel rushed all five patients to the hospital for treatment.
The report did not release the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP forced the westbound lanes of Highway 58 to shut down at H Street following the wreck.
The cause of the Bakersfield crash is still under investigation.
