Barbara Bailey, 82, Seriously Injured in Weaverville Pedestrian Crash
WEAVERVILLE, CA (June 11, 2021) – A pedestrian crash seriously injured Barbara Bailey at Highway 299 and Highway 3 in Weaverville.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 82-year-old Weaverville woman as the victim of the accident which occurred on Wednesday.
The incident began when Barbara Bailey was walking across the intersection of Highway 299 and Highway 3 in Weaverville. At the same time, a vehicle was going south on State Route 3.

CHP said the driver, 69-year-old Elizabeth Riley, then made a turn onto eastbound State Route 299. In the process, she struck the elderly pedestrian in the crosswalk.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They then found Barbara Bailey suffering from major injuries as a result of the pedestrian crash.
Medical personnel rushed her to the Mercy Medical Center in Redding for treatment. KRCRTV News and KYMKEMP wrote that the collision took place on June 9 at around 5:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, CHP determined that the Douglas City woman driving the car did not see the victim crossing the road and hit her. Authorities are still investigating the Weaverville pedestrian accident.
