1 Seriously Injured in Beaumont Crash on 60 Freeway Near Western Knolls
BEAUMONT, CA (December 1, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a crash on the 60 Freeway near Western Knolls Avenue in Beaumont.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Wednesday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 5:26 p.m.
CHP said a white Ford Explorer and a white semi-truck collided for an unknown reason in the city of Beaumont. The two crashed on the westbound 60 Freeway, just east of Western Knolls Avenue.
Car and Semi-Truck Collide
The incident log added that the SUV rolled over and came to a rest on its roof. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and extricated a trapped occupant from the Ford.
CHP determined that the rescued person sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment.
The report did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP mentioned that the incident left the 120 feet chain link fence damaged.
Officers forced the westbound lanes of the 60 Freeway to shut down near Western Knolls following the wreck. The cause of the Beaumont crash is still under investigation.
